Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE .
  2. Remove the return hose from the cooler pipe/hose. Refer to Power Steering Return Hose Replacement (3.1L)  or Power Steering Return Hose Replacement (3.8L) .
  3. Remove the cooler pipe/hose retaining bolt from the frame.
  4. Remove the cooler pipe/hose from the retaining clips on the frame.

  5. Remove the cooler pipe/hose from the clamps on the steering gear.
  6. Remove the wiring harness clip from the cooler pipe/hose.
  7. Remove the cooler pipe/hose from the steering gear.
  8. Remove the cooler pipe/hose from the vehicle.
