Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Chevrolet Corvette. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Important:  A minimum of 2 mm (0.08 in) of sealing foam must extend beyond the ends of the retainer to prevent water leaks.

  1. Install foam sealing tape to a reusable retainer or peel the protective cover from the foam tape on a new retainer.
  2. Position the retainer.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.

    Important:  Stripped, broken, or improperly seated screws must be replaced or repaired to prevent water leaks.

  3. Install the screws attaching the retainer.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the roof weatherstrip retainer screws to 3 N.m (27 lb in).

  4. Apply a 6 mm (0.25 in) X 100 mm (4 in) bead of thumb grade sealer to the roof bow and lock pillar overlapping the side retainer as shown.

  5. Install the weatherstrip.

  6. Install the roof lift off panel.
