Installation Procedure

- Install the rear side rail.NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
- Install the center side rail screws to the rear side rail.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 19 N.m (14 lb ft).
- Install the extension bracket screws to the #5 bow.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 13 N.m (10 lb ft).
- Rivet the #5 bow to the extension bracket on the rear side rail. Verify that both sides of the rivet are flat.
- Rivet the protector elastic strap to the rear side rail.
- Rivet the tension cable flag to the rear side rail. The rolled side of the flag must face forward.
- Rivet the top cover to the bottom of the rear side rail.
- Rivet the top flap to the rear side rail.
- Install the retainer and the seal to the rear side rail. Refer to WEATHERSTRIP RETAINER REPLACEMENT - FOLDING TOP (FRONT AND CENTER SIDE RAIL) or WEATHERSTRIP RETAINER REPLACEMENT - FOLDING TOP (REAR SIDE RAIL) .
- Install the screws attaching the headliner elastic strap to the rear side rail.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
- Install the headliner screws to the rear side rail.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
- Connect the defogger wire to the rear side rail.
- Install the folding top to the vehicle. Refer to FOLDING TOP REPLACEMENT .
- Position the folding top to the original position.
