Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the lock pillar upper trim panel. Refer to TRIM REPLACEMENT - LOCK PILLAR (UPPER CONVERTIBLE or TRIM REPLACEMENT - LOCK PILLAR (COUPE) or TRIM REPLACEMENT - LOCK PILLAR (LOWER CONVERTIBLE AND HARD TOP) in Interior Trim.
  2. Position the #1 bow and the #5 bow in an up position.
  3. Disconnect the rear defogger electrical connections.
  4. Using a grease pencil mark the folding top mounting locations on both sides.

  5. Remove the folding top pillar bracket bolts with an assistant.
  6. With an assistant, slide the top slightly up and then rearward and out of the pillar bracket.
