Folding Top Latch Adjustment

Adjust the latch handle (1) for proper fit, by raising or lowering the striker (3).
Important: You should not have to loosen the striker screws.
Use a nylon mallet and a drift to punch the striker (3). Punch upward to loosen the striker or punch downward to tighten the striker.
NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
Inspect the striker screws for proper torque.
Tighten

Tighten the striker screws 10 N.m (89 lb in).

Loosen the latch handle bolts.
Important: Assure that the latch handle base is parallel to the striker.
Reposition the latch handle forward or rearward. To avoid squeaks and rattles maintain a minimum of 2 mm (0.08 in) clearance between latch handle and the latch striker.
Tighten the latch handle bolts.
Tighten

Tighten the bolts to 13 N.m (10 lb ft).
