Change Engine Oil Soon

The IPC illuminates the CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message in the driver information center (DIC) when the powertrain control module (PCM) determines that the engine oil should be changed in the near future. The PCM sends a class 2 message to the IPC requesting illumination. After the oil is changed, reset the engine oil monitor. Refer to CHANGE ENGINE OIL LIGHT (PASSENGER CARS) .
