Removal (4.3L)

- Loosen hose clamp on outlet side of Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor. Dislodge air cleaner outlet duct from outlet side of MAF sensor. Remove air cleaner outlet duct wing nut at throttle body unit. Pivot air cleaner outlet duct/resonator upward at throttle body unit until hinge clip releases from lip on throttle body. See Figure.
- Remove air cleaner outlet duct adapter stud. See Fig 1. Disconnect accelerator control cable from throttle body. Disconnect cruise control cable from throttle body (if equipped).
- Remove 2 accelerator control cable routing bracket-to-throttle body retaining nuts. See Figure. Remove accelerator control cable routing bracket with cables attached and position aside.
- Remove accelerator control cable bracket-to-throttle body and intake manifold studs/nuts. Remove accelerator control cable bracket with cables attached and position aside.
- Disconnect harness connectors from Throttle Position (TP) sensor and Idle Air Control (IAC) valve. Remove throttle body-to-intake manifold studs. Remove throttle body. Remove throttle body flange gasket and discard.
