Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Chevrolet Corvette. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Important:

All gasket surfaces should be free of oil and other foreign material during assembly.
DO NOT reuse the valve rocker arm cover gasket.
The valve rocker arm cover bolt grommets may be reused.
If the PCV valve grommet has been removed from the rocker arm, install a NEW grommet during assembly.

Install a NEW rocker cover gasket (1) into the valve rocker cover lip.

Install the valve rocker arm cover.

NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
Tighten the valve rocker cover bolts.
Tighten

Tighten the valve rocker arm cover bolts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
Install the ignition coil bracket.

Apply threadlock GM U.S. P/N 12345382, Canada P/N 10953489, or equivalent to the threads of the ignition coil bracket studs.
Install the ignition coil bracket studs.
Tighten

Tighten the ignition coil bracket studs to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
Install the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve to the bracket.

Connect the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve electrical connector (2).

Install the EVAP canister purge tube.

Connect the EVAP canister purge tube to the fuel feed pipe.
Connect the EVAP canister purge tube to the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve.
Install the EVAP canister purge tube.

Install the EVAP canister purge tube to the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve.
Install the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge tube to the intake manifold.
Connect the ignition coil wire harness main electrical connector.

Install the spark plug wires to the ignition coils.
If equipped with the RPO LS1 engine, install the PCV valve pipe to the left rocker cover.

Connect the AIR hose (3) to the check valve.
Install the AIR hose clamp.

Connect the generator electrical connector (1).

Install the engine wiring harness generator lead and nut (3).
Tighten

Tighten the engine wiring harness generator lead nut to 13 N.m (115 lb in).
Install the fuel feed hose. Refer to FUEL LINE DISCONNECT FITTINGS .
