Intake Manifold Installation
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Chevrolet Corvette. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Important: The intake manifold, throttle body, fuel injection rail and fuel injectors may be removed as an assembly. If not servicing the individual components, install the intake manifold as a complete assembly.
DO NOT use intake manifold gaskets again.
Install NEW intake manifold-to-cylinder head gaskets.
- Install NEW intake manifold-to-cylinder head gaskets (1).
- Install the intake manifold to the engine.
- Apply threadlock GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) or equivalent to the threads of the intake manifold bolts (1). Refer to Sealers, Adhesives, And Lubricants Specifications .
- Install the fuel rail stop bracket (2).
NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
- Install the manifold bolts.
Tighten
- 5.1. Tighten intake manifold bolts a first pass in sequence to 5 N.m (44 lb in).
- 5.2. Tighten intake manifold bolts a final pass in sequence to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
- Install the knock sensor wire harness connector (1) onto the fuel rail stop bracket (2).
- Note the location of the fuel rail ground strap (1) on the intake manifold.
The fuel rail ground strap must be installed during assembly.
- Install the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor, if previously removed.
- Install the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve pipe to the right rocker cover and intake manifold-LS1.
- Install the PCV strap and nut onto the right front vapor vent pipe stud - LS1.

Tighten
Tighten the PCV strap nut to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
- Install the PCV valve pipe (1) to the valley cover and intake manifold - LS6.
- Install the PCV valve pipe to the left rocker cover.
