Removal & Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix, 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, 2002 Chevrolet Impala, 2002 Buick Regal, and 2002 Buick Century. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn OFF the ignition. Disconnect the spark plug wires from the ignition coils. Note the position from which the wires are removed. Remove the 2 screws that secure the ignition coil to the ignition control module. Remove the ignition coil.
  2. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten the coil screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Connect the spark plug wires to the ignition coils. See Fig 1 or Fig 2 .
