Removal (3.8L)

- Release fuel system pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Drain the fuel tank. See FUEL TANK DRAINING . Raise and support vehicle.
- Loosen the fuel filler hose clamp at the fuel tank. Remove the fuel tank filler hose from the fuel tank. Disconnect the quick-connect fittings at the fuel filter and chassis. See FUEL LINE DISCONNECT FITTINGS . Disconnect the EVAP pipe from the connection at the front of the fuel tank.
- Remove the rubber exhaust pipe hangers in order to allow the exhaust system to drop slightly. Support the fuel tank with a suitable jack. Support the fuel tank strap bolts. Lower the fuel tank to access the EVAP connections. Disconnect the EVAP pipes from the rear of the fuel tank.
- Disconnect the EVAP pipe from the fuel limiter vent valve. Disconnect the fuel filler neck EVAP pipe at the rear of the fuel tank. Lower, and remove the fuel tank from the vehicle.
