Heated Oxygen Sensor: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix, 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, 2002 Chevrolet Impala, 2002 Buick Regal, and 2002 Buick Century. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: The Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) uses a permanently attached pigtail and connector. Do not remove this pigtail from the HO2S. Damage or the removal of the pigtail or the connector could affect the proper operation of the sensor. Take care when handling the HO2S. Keep the in-line electrical connector and the louvered end free of grease, dirt, or other contaminants. Also avoid using cleaning solvents of any type. Do not drop the HO2S. Do not roughly handle the HO2S. The HO2S may be difficult to remove when the engine temperature is less than 120°F (48°C).
