Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix, 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, 2002 Chevrolet Impala, 2002 Buick Regal, and 2002 Buick Century. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the air cleaner housing by pushing the cover (1) into the 2 rubber grommets (2) in the engine compartment.

  2. Install the PCM and the harness into the air cleaner housing (3).

  3. Install the air cleaner housing cover assembly (1).
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  4. Install the 2 screws (2) to the air cleaner housing. Tighten the screws to 3 N.m (27 lb in).
  5. Install the air cleaner intake duct. Refer to AIR CLEANER INTAKE DUCT .
  6. Install the left inner fender brace. Refer to BRACE REPLACEMENT - FRONT FENDER UPPER DIAGON .


  1. Install the air cleaner assembly by pushing the housing into the rubber grommets in the engine compartment.
  2. Install the PCM (4) into the air cleaner housing (3).

    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  3. Install the air cleaner housing cover (1) to the air cleaner housing (3).
  4. Install the air cleaner housing cover screws (6). Tighten the screws to 4 N.m (35 lb in).

  5. Install the inner fender brace (5).
  6. Install the inner fender brace bolts. Tighten the bolts to 47 N.m (35 lb ft).
  7. Install the air cleaner intake duct. Refer to AIR CLEANER INTAKE DUCT .
