Removal Procedure

- Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure .
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (Single Battery) Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (Auxiliary Battery) in Engine Electrical in the C/K Pickup service manual.
- Remove the engine sight shield.
- Disconnect the sensor connector.
- Support the fuel rail flange (4) with a back-up wrench (3) while loosening the sensor (2) with a wrench (1).
- Remove the sensor (2) from the fuel rail.
- Remove and discard the O-rings.
