Installation Procedure

- Install the sensor (2) into the fuel rail (4) with a new O-ring. Lubricate the O-ring with petroleum jelly.
- Support the fuel rail flange (4) with a back-up wrench (3) while tightening the sensor (2) with a crowfoot and torque wrench.
Tighten: Tighten the sensor to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
- Connect the sensor electrical sensor.
- Install the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (Single Battery) Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (Auxiliary Battery) in Engine Electrical in the C/K Pickup service manual.
- Start the vehicle and inspect for CNG fuel leaks at the serviced fitting using the J 45878 or an equivalent leak detector. See Special Tools and Equipment .
- Install the engine sight shield.
