Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 GMC Sierra and 2004 Chevrolet Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the fuel rail assembly. Refer to Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement (KL6)  or Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement (KL8) .
    2. NOTE: Use care in removing the fuel injectors in order to prevent damage to the fuel injector electrical connector pins or the fuel injector nozzles. Do not immerse the fuel injector in any type of cleaner. The fuel injector is an electrical component and may be damaged by this cleaning method.

  2. Remove the injector (5) hold down clip.
  3. Remove the injector from the fuel rail with a pulling a twisting motion.
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the remaining fuel injectors.
