Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Aztek and 2004 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Lightly coat the O-ring with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
  2. IMPORTANT: DO NOT allow any of the mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil on the new O-ring to enter the refrigerant system.

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the service port.

    Tighten:  Tighten the service port to 11 N.m (98 lb in).

  4. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  5. Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A  .
  6. Install the service port cap.

    Tighten the cap 1/4-1/2 turn after the seal washer contacts to access fitting.
