Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Aztek and 2004 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install a new sealing washer onto the compressor side of the discharge hose. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement .
  2. Install the discharge hose.
  3. Remove the cap or tape from the compressor discharge port.

  5. Connect the discharge hose to the compressor.
  6. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  7. Install the nut to secure the discharge hose to the compressor.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

  8. Install a new seal washer to the condenser side of the discharge hose. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement .
  9. Remove cap or tape from the discharge port on the condenser.

  11. Connect the discharge hose to the condenser.
  12. Install the nut to secure the discharge hose to the condenser.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

  13. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  14. Use J 39400-A  to leak test the fittings of the component.
  15. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.6L.
