Installation Procedure

  1. Install the air temperature door.

    IMPORTANT: Align the evaporator temperature sensor wires with the opening in the upper HVAC module case. Improper alignment will pinch and/or cut the sensor wires.
  3. Align and install the upper module case to the lower module case.
  4. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  5. Install the lower HVAC module screws.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 0.9 N.m (8 lb in).

  6. Install the lower HVAC module retaining screw.
  7. Install the heater core.

  9. Install the heater core pipe retaining screw.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screw to 0.9 N.m (8 lb in).

  11. Install the heater core cover.
  12. Install the heater core cover screws.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 0.9 N.m (8 lb in).

  14. Install the heater outlet duct.
  15. Install the heater outlet duct screws.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 0.9 N.m (8 lb in).

  16. Install the HVAC module upper retaining screw.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screw to 0.9 N.m (8 lb in).

  18. Install the right HVAC module mounting bracket.
  19. Install the right HVAC module mounting bracket screws.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screw to 1.8 N.m (16 lb in).

  21. Install the HVAC module assembly to dash panel sound barrier seal.

  23. Install the air inlet housing.
  24. Install the air inlet housing screws.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 0.9 N.m (8 lb in).

  25. IMPORTANT: Align the pin on the air temperature actuator with the slot in the temperature door lever.
  26. Install the temperature door lever (1) to the temperature door.

  28. Connect the temperature door lever spring (2) to the temperature door lever (1) and HVAC module case.
  29. Install the temperature door lever bolt (3) to the HVAC module case.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 0.9 N.m (8 lb in).

  30. Install the HVAC module assembly. Refer to HVAC Module Assembly Replacement .
