Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the right front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  3. Remove the right front wheel drive shaft. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Front in Wheel Drive Shafts.

  5. Using the J 2619-O1  with the J 29794  and the J 23129  remove the axle shaft oil seal (1) from the transfer case. See Special Tools and Equipment .
