Wheel Stud (Semi-Floating Axle): Installation

- Start the NEW stud into the axle flange hole by pressing firmly with your hand.
- Thread the lug nut on the stud with the flat side of the lug nut to the vehicle. See Figure .
- Tighten the lug nut in order to draw the stud into the rear of the flange.
- Thread the lug nut off the stud.
- Instal the brake drum. See 1998 DISC & DRUM -- TRUCKS -- EXCEPT TRACKER , 1999 DISC & DRUM -- TRUCKS -- EXCEPT TRACKER or 2000-01 DISC & DRUM -- TRUCKS -- EXCEPT TRACKER .
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Tighten wheel lug nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Lower the vehicle.
