Leaf Spring (Dual Wheel Spring Assembly): Removal

  1. Raise the vehicle.
  2. Support the rear axle independently in order to relieve the tension on the leaf springs.
  3. Remove the U-bolt nuts (6). See Figure .
  4. Remove the washers (5).
  5. Remove the anchor plate (7).
  6. Remove the U-bolts (1 and 4).
  7. Remove the spacer (8), loosen the shackle to spring nut.
  8. Remove the shackle (3), the shackle to rear bracket nut, the washers, and the bolt. See Figure .
  9. Remove the spring to front bracket.
  10. Remove the nut, the washers, and the bolt from the spring to front bracket.
  11. Remove the spring assembly from the vehicle. See Figure .
