Removal Procedure

Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

Remove the torque converter cover. Refer to Torque Converter Cover Replacement (LA1) or Torque Converter Cover Replacement (LY7) .
Remove the starter. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement (LA1) or Starter Motor Replacement (LY7) in Engine Electrical.

Use J 43442 to hold the flywheel.

Remove the torque converter bolts.
