Removal (3.5L)

  1. Turn ignition off. On Aurora, remove rear seat cushion to access battery. On all models, disconnect negative battery cable. Raise and support vehicle. Remove the front lower air deflector. Disconnect starter wiring. Remove starter motor. Disconnect harness connector from Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor. See Figure.
  2. Remove CKP sensor mounting bolt. Remove CKP sensor from the engine block. Remove the sensor by pulling on the sensor connector. Do not pry on the sensor bracket. Do not rotate, or twist the sensor or damage the mounting bracket.
