Idle Air Control Valve: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue and 2002 Oldsmobile Aurora. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: For calibration purposes, several different style Idle Air Control (IAC) valves are used. Ensure replacement valve has the same part number as original valve.

Turn ignition off. Remove mounting the 2 mounting nuts from the injector sight shield (top engine cover). Lift the injector sight shield off the mounting studs by lifting at the front of the cover. Disconnect harness connector from IAC valve. On Aurora 3.5L, remove the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve. See EGR VALVE  under EMISSION SYSTEMS & SUB-SYSTEMS. On all models, remove IAC valve and "O" ring from throttle body assembly.
