Removal & Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue and 2002 Oldsmobile Aurora. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove mounting the 2 mounting nuts from the injector sight shield (top engine cover). Lift the injector sight shield off the mounting studs by lifting at the front of the cover. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge solenoid harness connector. See Figure or Figure . Disconnect the purge pipe from the EVAP canister purge solenoid.
  2. Remove the PCV hose from the right valve cover and reposition the hose, if necessary. Remove the EVAP canister purge solenoid retaining bolt. Partially open the throttle and remove the EVAP canister purge solenoid from the intake manifold.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Use a NEW "O" ring when installing solenoid. Tighten EVAP canister purge solenoid bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
