Installation Procedure

  1. Install the switch, if removed.
  2. Install the cable to the new parking brake lever.
  3. Install the cable end to the lever clevis.

  5. Install the new parking brake lever.
  6. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  7. Install the three lever to body mounting nuts.

    Tighten:  Tighten parking brake lever mounting nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  8. Connect the electrical connector at the parking brake switch.

  10. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  11. Feed the cable through the underbody and clip the cable into place.

  13. Tighten the parking brake cable at the equalizer.
  14. Lower the vehicle.
  15. Position the carpet in place.
  16. Install the left side insulator panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Cowl Side in Interior Trim.
  17. Adjust the parking brake. Refer to Park Brake Adjustment (Disc)  or Park Brake Adjustment (Drum) .
