Diagnostic Procedures

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Saturn Vue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn ignition on, engine off. Disconnect HO2S bank 1 sensor 2. Check for corrosion in harness connector. If corrosion is present, clean corrosion out of harness connector and make sure seal is not damaged. If corrosion is not present, go to next step.
  2. Using scan tool, monitor HO2S bank 1 sensor 2. If reading is more than 519 mV, repair Purple/White wire shorted to voltage. If reading is not more than 519 mV, go to next step.
  3. Connect test light between battery voltage and HO2S connector terminal No. 4 (Purple/White wire). Using scan tool, monitor HO2S bank 1 sensor 2. If reading is more than 519 mV, repair short between Purple wire and Purple/White wire between HO2S and ECM. If reading is not more than 519 mV, replace HO2S bank 1 sensor 2.
