Removal Procedure

Remove the air cleaner. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls-3.6L (LY7).
Remove the throttle body assembly. Refer to Throttle Body Assembly Replacement .
Remove the heater pipes. Refer to Heater Pipes Replacement (LY7) in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.

IMPORTANT: Use a universal or swivel socket with a long extension in order to remove the bolts.

Remove the coolant inlet pipe. Refer to Coolant Pipe Replacement - Inlet .

IMPORTANT: Use a universal or swivel socket with a long extension in order to remove the bolts.

Remove the thermostat bolts and the thermostat.
Clean the thermostat and heater pipe sealing surfaces.
