Installation Procedure

  1. Install a NEW thermostat gasket.
  2. Install the thermostat and gasket.
    3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the thermostat bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  4. Install the coolant inlet pipe. Refer to Coolant Pipe Replacement - Inlet .
  5. Install the heater pipes. Refer to Heater Pipes Replacement (LY7) in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
  6. Install the throttle body assembly. Refer to Throttle Body Assembly Replacement .
  7. Install the air cleaner. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls-3.6L (LY7).
  8. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System .
