Removal Procedure

    CAUTION: Refer to Electric Coolant Fan Caution in Cautions and Notices.
    CAUTION: Refer to Damaged Fan Blade Caution in Cautions and Notices.
    IMPORTANT: If abnormal noise or vibration is felt from the engine compartment, inspect and clean any foreign material from the cooling fan blades.
  1. Remove the cooling fan assembly including the shroud. Refer to Cooling Fan Replacement - Electric (LA1)  or Cooling Fan Replacement - Electric (LY7) .
  2. Fig 1: Identifying Cooling Fans

    IMPORTANT: Turn the cooling fan nuts clockwise to loosen.
  3. Remove the cooling fan nuts.
  4. Remove the cooling fans from the shroud.

  6. Disconnect the fan motor electrical connectors.
  7. Remove the fan motor screws.
  8. Remove the fan motors and the heat shields from the cooling fan shroud.
