Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Aztek and 2004 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Position the lower support retainer with the notch down and the retainers to the holes in the door panel.

  2. Install the center pins of the retainers using a small hammer.

  3. Position the lower support retainer with the notch down and the retainers to the holes in the door panel.

  4. Install the center pins of the retainers using a small hammer.

  5. Use a heat gunJ 25070  .
  6. Position the lower flange of the rear door body side molding to the retainer support and align the tab to the notch in the retainer support.

    IMPORTANT: Do not touch the adhesive backing on the molding.
  7. Remove the protective liner from the back side of the door body side molding.
  8. Position the upper edge of the rear door body side molding retainer clips to the holes in the door panel.
  9. Install the retainer clips to the door panel by pressing in until fully seated.
  10. Install the upper edge of the rear door body side molding by applying pressure to the entire length of the molding starting at the center and working outward to ensure a maximum bond to the door panel.
    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  11. Install the screws to the rear edge of the rear door body side molding.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

  12. Close the rear door.
