Diagnostic Aids

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Saturn Vue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Attempting to start engine by substituting parts without performing PassLock(R) password learn procedure may set DTC P1631 or P1632.

If ECM receives an undecided password from BCM during engine crank, engine will start, then stall. If ECM receives a fuel disable password, engine will not start.

Passlock(R) sensor, BCM and ECM contain the same Passlock(R) codes. If any of these components are replaced, a relearn procedure must be performed.
