Diagnostic Aids

DTC indicates ECM received an incorrect password and may have set during drive cycle. If ECM detected an incorrect password during drive cycle, vehicle will still start.

If ECM detected an incorrect password from BCM during an engine crank, engine will start then stall.

Passlock(R) sensor, BCM and ECM contain the same Passlock(R) codes. If any of these components are replaced, a relearn procedure must be performed.

Attempting to start engine by substituting parts without performing PassLock(R) password learn procedure may set DTC P1631 or P1632. Diagnose any BCM PassLock(R) or communications DTCs first. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS  .
