Diagnostic Aids

Using scan tool, view the ECM data and monitor the engine torque.
Check for DTCs in the EBTCM. Diagnose any EBTCM or communication DTCs first. See appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT.
Possible causes for DTC P1571:
- Proper connection.
- Backed-out terminals.
- Broken connector locks.
- Corrosion in connectors/terminals.
- Burned, chafed or pinched wiring.
- Broken wire inside insulation.
- Loose components.
- ECM not receiving message from the EBTCM.
