If DTC P1515 or P1516 are also set, the REDUCED POWER lamp will illuminate and the engine will be forced to shut down.

If any TP sensor DTC is also set, diagnose that DTC first. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS .

Possible causes of P1523:

Throttle plate sticking due to carbon build up or ice formation.
Weak throttle return springs.
