Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Aztek and 2004 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
IMPORTANT: Position the left side first, then the right side.
  1. Position the impact bar to the body using the alignment pin for location.

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the impact bar bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the impact bar bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  3. Install the energy absorber. Refer to Energy Absorber Replacement - Rear (Aztek)  or Energy Absorber Replacement - Rear (Rendezvous)  .
  4. Install the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Fascia Replacement - Rear Bumper (Aztek)  or Fascia Replacement - Rear Bumper (Rendezvous)  .
