Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Aztek and 2004 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Head restraints are the double-post type that are adjustable either up or down. Only the solid type head restraints have serviceable trim covers. Use J 42372  in order to remove the head restraints. See Special Tools and Equipment .

  1. Raise the head restraint to the full up position.

  7. Push down on both of the tools on both sides and lift the head restraint out.

It may be necessary to have help pulling on the head rest or pushing on the tool.
