The ratio control motor controls the pulley ratio by controlling the flow of the primary feed fluid flow. The ratio control motor consist of five separate circuits, four of these are grounding circuits controlled by the TCM and one power circuit from the underhood fuse block. The TCM monitors the status of the four grounding circuits and can detect a short to power, a short to ground or an open. When either of these failures is detected, P1884 will set.
