Diagnostic Procedure

  1. If SIR Diagnostic System Check has been performed, go to next step. If SIR Diagnostic System Check has not been performed, go to SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
  2. Using scan tool, communicate with Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) and request DTC display. If scan tool displays DTC B1510, inspect AIR BAG warning light. If DTC B1510 is not indicated, go to next step.
  3. Using scan tool, pull up special functions in IPC section. Go to WOW Instrument Cluster in Output Control section of scan tool. Using WOW mode, turn on or off all instrument panel indicators. If AIR BAG warning light turns on and off when commanded to do so, go to next step. If AIR BAG warning light does not turn on and off, go to step  5.
  4. Replace SDM. See SENSING & DIAGNOSTIC MODULE (SDM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. When replacement of SDM is completed, go to SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
  5. Replace AIR BAG light in instrument panel cluster. Go to SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
