Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Aztek and 2004 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (Aztek)  or Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (Rendezvous) .
  2. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door .
  3. Remove the inside handle rods from the front door inside handle. Refer to Door Handle Replacement - Front Inside .
  4. Disconnect the clip securing the outside handle rod to the front door lock.

  5. Remove the screws from the front door lock.

  6. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the lock.

  7. Remove the lock with the inside handle rods attached to the lock through the access hole in the front door inner panel.

  8. Remove the inside handle rods from the lock.
