Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Aztek and 2004 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the rear door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door (Aztek)  or Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door (Rendezvous) .
  2. Remove the rear door water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Rear Door .
  3. Remove the center of the rivets using a center punch.

  4. Drill out the rivet from the rear inside door handle using a 6.35 mm (1/4 in) drill bit.

  5. Remove the rear inside door handle from the rear door inner panel.

  6. Remove the lock rod and door handle rod from the rear inside door handle.
