Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Aztek and 2004 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (Aztek)  or Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (Rendezvous) .
  2. Remove the front door water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door .
  3. Remove the center of the rivets using a center punch.

  4. Drill out the rivet from the front inside door handle using a 6.35 mm (1/4 in) drill bit.

  5. Remove the front inside door handle from the front door inner panel.
  6. Remove the lock rod and door handle rod from the front inside door handle.
