1 Did you perform the Door Systems Diagnostic System Check? Go to Step 2  Go to Diagnostic System Check - Door Systems 
2 Verify that the automatic door locks inoperative fault is present.
Do the automatic door locks operate normally?		 Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems Go to Step 3

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn the ignition on, with the engine off.
  3. With a scan tool, observe the current automatic door lock mode in Personalization.
Is the correct automatic door lock mode selected?		 Go to Step 4  Go to Vehicle Personalization in Personalization
4 Do the power door locks operate normally? Go to Step 5  Go to Symptoms - Doors

  1. Close all of the doors.
  2. With a scan tool, observe the driver door open, the passenger door open and rear door open switch parameters in the Body Control Module data list.
Does the scan tool display Closed for the driver or passenger door open switches, or Inactive for the rear door open switch?		 Go to Step 7  Go to Step 6 
6 Test the secondary door latch switch signal circuit of the appropriate door lock harness connector for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?		 Go to Step 11  Go to Step 8 
7 Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the body control module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?		 Go to Step 11  Go to Step 9 
8 Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the appropriate door lock. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?		 Go to Step 11  Go to Step 10

  1. Perform the set-up procedure for the body control module. Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration in Body Control System.
  2. Replace the body control module. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.
Did you complete the replacement?		 Go to Step 11  -
10 Replace the appropriate door lock. Refer to Lock Replacement - Front Door  or Lock Replacement - Rear Door .
Did you complete the replacement?		 Go to Step 11  -
11 Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
Did you correct the condition?		 System OK Go to Step 2
