Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Aztek and 2004 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.
  2. Fig 1: Locating Console Accessory Wiring Junction Block Retainers

  3. Install the console accessory wiring junction block (2) into the console accessory wiring junction block bracket.
  4. Secure the console accessory wiring junction block retainers (1).

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  6. Connect the console accessory wiring junction block electrical connectors (1, 2).

    Install the console accessory wiring junction block electrical connectors bolts (1, 2) finger tight until seated.

    Tighten:  Tighten the console accessory wiring junction block electrical connectors bolts to 6 N.m (54 lb in).

  8. Connect the BCM electrical connectors (1, 2, 3).
  9. Install the front floor console. Refer to Console Replacement - Front Floor (Aztek) or Console Replacement - Front Floor (Rendezvous) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  10. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (LA1) or Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure (LY7) in Engine Electrical.
