Removal Procedure

- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
- Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer toTire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
- Remove the lower control arm. Refer to Lower Control Arm Replacement (RWD) or Lower Control Arm Replacement (4WD) .
- Secure the lower control arm in a bench vice or equivalent.
- Center punch the rivet heads.
- Drill out the rivets.
- Remove the lower ball joint.
