Transfer Case

NOTE:
When performing the following service procedures, use ONLY hand tools to remove and install the fill or drain plugs.
NOTE:
If the drain or fill plug have to be replaced, used only aluminum replacement drain plugs.
Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the transfer case shields from the cross member (if equipped). Remove the fill plug from the transfer case. See Fig 1. Remove the drain plug from the transfer case. See Fig 2. Install the drain plug in the transfer case. See Fig 2. Tighten the drain plug to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Fill transfer case with appropriate fluid to bottom of fill hole. See Fig 1. See RECOMMENDED FLUIDS . Tighten the fill plug to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install the transfer case shield to the cross member. Lower the vehicle.
