Removal Procedure

Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
If the vehicle is a 1500 series, remove the transfer case shield bolts, if equipped.
Remove the transfer case shield, if equipped.

If the vehicle is a 2500 series, remove the transfer case shield screws, if equipped.
