Removal Procedure

IMPORTANT: When performing the following service procedures, use only hand tools in order to remove and install the fill or drain plugs. Always start the plugs by hand in order to prevent cross threading.
  1. Remove the transfer case shield, if equipped. Refer to Transfer Case Fluid Replacement .
  2. Remove the fill plug.

  4. Remove the drain plug.
