Installation Procedure

  1. Install the control lever assembly.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the control lever bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

  5. Install the control lever bezel.
  6. Install the control lever bezel screws.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  7. Install the control lever knob.

  9. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  10. Install the shift control rod. Refer to Transfer Case Control Rod Replacement .
  11. Install the front propeller shaft. Refer to Propeller Shaft Replacement - Front in Propeller Shaft.
  12. Install the transfer case shield, if equipped. Refer to Transfer Case Fluid Replacement .
